The Perfect Fitness Program For Any Committed Individual

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and professional athletes. We scale load and intensity; but the program remains the same. And so does the effectiveness of the results.

CrossFit is many things. Primarily, it’s a fitness regimen developed by Coach Greg Glassman over several decades. He was the first person in history to define fitness in a meaningful, measurable way (increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains).
CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity). CrossFit is also the community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossFit is a key component of why it’s so effective.

CONSTANTLY VARIED

We believe that preparation for random physical challenges—i.e., unknown and unknowable events that occur in everyday life—is at odds with fixed, predictable, and routine regimens. By constantly varying our workouts we have found to get a much better overall improvement in our participants.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENTS

The magic is in the movements. All of CrossFit’s workouts are based on functional movements. These are the core movements of life, found everywhere, and built naturally into our DNA.

HIGH INTENSITY

Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work/time. The more work you do in less time, the more intense the effort. We’ve learned that harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition, and fun of sport or game yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means.

We Offer Training To Suit Any Fitness Level

At CrossFit Iron Lion we offer 3 different levels of programming to suit people who just want to be active to those who really want to push themselves. Most importantly we have built a great community of like minded people who love what we do.

ACTIVE

This level is suitable for anybody and everybody that wants to improve their fitness and stay active. With a primary focus on movement quality rather than intensity, our Active members work on building foundations in strength, technique and mobility. Designed to give you broad fitness in the long term. All the benefits from CrossFit without intensity and complexity of some of the more difficult movements. People on the Active level should also have a good understanding of the basics of good nutrition and recovery practices, and be working to improve any unhealthy habits in their lifestyle.

ATHLETIC

For the member who has proven to our coaches that they are capable of completing the Active workouts consistently with good form and can meet the minimum fitness requirements, we offer the Athletic WOD option. A greater degree of complexity gymnastics and Olympic weightlifting movement as well as increasing repetition volume and load, this is our tried and tested method to get you strong & fit. Active will develop you into a well-rounded athlete. This level will also give you the overall ability to confidently participate in a Crossfit competitions if you choose to. Athletes on the Athletic level will also demonstrate a consistent approach to nutrition and recovery, and as a result have achieved a robust level of health.

COMPETITIVE

For those who want to compete in CrossFit, have proven to the coaching staff they are capable of completing all the complicated movements involved in CrossFit, consistently, with a developing virtuosity in movement. This is for the competitor who has spent time polishing their skills in Open Training, has had some personal coaching to develop their technique. They will also have developed a good understanding of how and when they need to train and how and when to rest and to fuel their bodies for optimal performance. A much higher degree of skill level required. This is for the competitor trying to make themselves very. hard. to. kill.
